THE PROFIT SEASON 8, EPISODE 3: WHAT WE LEARNED FROM MOD BARN (2021)

The season 8 episode 3 of The Profit, likely felt like deja vu for fans of the CNBC series, as Marcus Lemonis once again walked into the world of furniture. Would the third time in this arena be another charm?

“Checks and Balances” saw him visiting the California-based company Mod Barn to try and straighten out the company’s finances. While they made beautiful custom furniture, the owners had a hard time getting their own proverbial house in order. It was up to Marcus to lay out a real business plan before the company fell any further behind.


  • The Deal - Marcus offered $200,000 for 20% of the business.  Wendy and Ryan will each own 35% of the business and they gave Alphus Imani the remaining 20%.  Marcus wants to use the money to improve their process, to find someone to fulfil orders on the east coast, and to redesign the storefront.
